Slow Earth Companion gathers voices and visions shaped over a decade of deep listening and relational conversation, and sets them loose in prose, prayer, poetry, and practice. Throughout the book are stirring and sensorial drawings by Krista Dragomer that hum and buzz with elemental entanglement with a wily more-than-human presence to nudge you along the way.

A State of Change
A State of Change is an audio series by For The Wild Studio in partnership with Heyday Books, exploring how close observation, memory, and imagination can reshape our understanding of place.
Inspired by artist-naturalist Laura Cunningham’s field sketching practice and her newly revised and expanded A State of Change: California’s Forgotten Landscapes (Heyday Books, 2026), the series explores how art and science help us recover ecological histories, deepen cultural memory, and imagine what can be restored. By learning to see what has been lost alongside what remains, we open new possibilities for the landscapes of our future.

In this Patreon exclusive, we return to the field in continued conversation with Dr. Fred Sharpe and his collaborators. This episode widens its lens, tracing the seasonal patterns of humpback behavior, communication, and migration as they intersect with rapidly shifting ocean conditions.
